4 Reasons Why You Should Set Up a Google My Business Profile

Google My Business is a one-stop shop where clients can leave reviews, people looking for a vet can learn more about what you offer and you can showcase your best qualities.

Here are four reasons why every vet practitioner should set up an account today:

  1. A Google My Business is a business profile that allows you to show up whenever a user is looking for a local business. Having a profile makes sure you show up in the search and maps sections.
  2. Having a profile allows you to communicate with your customers as they can leave you reviews, and the more reviews you get, the better! Having reviews on your Google My Business is more important right now than having reviews on any other platform because Google My Business reviews factor heavily into your Google ranking. Always send your clients and customers to Google first to leave reviews. Thank clients for positive reviews, and respond apologetically and proactively to any negative feedback. This solidifies the relationship between you and your clients, and when people see you directly respond to their comments they are likely to be more measured in any criticism.
  3. By utilizing the post section of Google My Business, you can promote new offers, promotions, or share the latest news. You can make sure all your customers and future customers are in the know.
  4. Gaining new clients with your Google My Business is the goal, and having all of your practice’s useful information in one place for people is extremely important and makes it that much easier for users to choose you when looking for a vet clinic. On your profile you can post your business hours, address, phone number, email and website URL. You can share photos, list services offered and describe what makes your practice unique.

After adding all this information, makes sure you are monitoring the analytics of your Google My Business through their Insights tab on the right-hand side.

The most important first step is establishing a Gmail account, which is needed to create a Google My Business listing or claim one. Once you have done that, check out this how-to guide on setting up your Google My Business Profile here.
